The Dixie Car club met on Thursday July 6th at Western Sizzlin in Benton.
President Shane Shelton welcomed 27 member and 2 guest.
Old Business
Ron Wood reported the outing to Larry’s Pizza in Bryant was well attended by 19 members and about 6 to 9 old cars were driven.
Wanda Price gave an update on the new logo and T-shirt options. After a long discussion it was decided that she would get samples of white, light grey, and yellow T-shirts and bring them to the next meeting. The club voted to keep the new logo with some subtle changes that would bring it more up to date.
Cheryl Overton made it aware ,that due to some confusion this years’ car show will be held on September 30th. This due to an over sight and is really no ones fault. The club decided to go a head with the September 30th date to prevent any more problems and the fair grounds were available the following week. The motion to keep the September date was made by Bill Newsam and passed easily. Again the car show is September 30th this year.
Kenneth Hunter announced that his outing on September 16th. We will caravan from Bruno’s (The old Ed and Kays’ location)at 10:00. It is about a 2 hour drive to Little Fir Landing. Last year there were many things to do there such as cooking out, boating hand hanging out at the lake.
Lisa Ramsey sent out an SOS that more donations are needed for the concession stand at the up coming car show. We are also in need of concession workers. If you would like to help, please contact Lisa to sign up.
Cheryl Overton reminded everyone that we are still in need of corporate sponsors for the car show. Please ask those who you do business with for a sponsorship. All they can do is say no at the worst.
We would like to express sympathies and condolences to David and Brenda Huett. Brenda’s mother recently passed away. We would like to thank Fairy McMahan for acquiring flowers on behalf of the club for the funeral services.
