AUGUST 2017

NEXT MEETING:

        DATE:   THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

        TIME:    DINNER 6 P.M. / MEETING 7 P.M.

        PLACE:   WESTERN SIZZLIN’, BENTON

V.P.  Cheryl Overton opened the meeting welcoming 13 members and 2 guests.

The Bergagninis hosted the July outing to Tamollys in Bryant.  Approximately 18-19 members w/ 6-8 old cars gathered for great food and fellowship that day.

This month’s outing will be hosted by the Beason’s.   On Saturday, August 19, we will meet at Chicken Express in Benton by 1:30 p.m.  From there, we will caravan to Stubby’s BBQ in Hot Springs.  We will take the I-30 to Hwy 5 route.

Wanda Price reported that the Green Eyed Frog is closing.   Given this, options for new club shirts are temporarily on hold.

David and Brenda Huett sent a Thank You note to the club for the flowers sent to her mother’s memorial service.   We also have a few dealing with health issues and need our thoughts and prayers.  Velta Shipps had treatment for a blood clot in her leg.  She has been released from the hospital the day of the club meeting.  Wanda Price requested prayer for Lonnie.  He is at Alcoa Pines in Rehab.  He does have use of his right arm at this time.

Lisa Ramsey sent a Concessions list of items still needed for the Car Show.  There is also a volunteer sign up sheet.

Ashley’s Furniture in Bryant presented a sponsorship donation for the show.   Sponsorship  from Everett-Buick-GMC is in the works.

In regards to trophies for the show, Cheryl suggested that we have both plaques and trophies as we did last year.   She made a motion that if there is a monetary difference between plaques and trophies, she will make a decision to purchase plaques only.  She also reminded everyone that we still need donations for Silent Auction.

We will have two meetings in September due to the Car Show being on September 30.  The meetings will be held on September 7 and 28.  There will be no October 5 meeting.

There was $19 collected for the food bank.
