September 2017 – Newsletter

Next Meeting is Thursday September 28th at Western Sizzlin in Benton.  This is two days before the car show to finalize the plans.

The Dixie Car Club met September 7 at Western Sizzlin  President Shane Shelton welcomed 26 Members and two guest.

The start of the meeting was a lengthy discussion about t-shirts and the re-design of the club logo and methods to increase club recognition to the public.  Lisa Ramsey volunteered to take care of getting a logo proof by the next meeting.  The previous t-shirt, logo deal is no longer valid due to the vendor going out of business.  We had hoped to have these before the show, however, it is not possible at this time.

It was reported that the August outing hosted by Jeff and Chris Beason was attended by 10 people and 2 old cars were driven.  The outing was to Stubby’s Bar-B Que in Hot Springs.

The next outing will be hosted by Kenneth Hunter on September 23red. The earlier date had to be changed due to some health issue that arose.  The group will Caravan to Little Fir Landing for a day of out door activities.  We will meet at Bruno’s (formally Ed and Kays) at 10:00 for the drive over to Little Fir.

Bill Newsam presented invitation from the Benton Chamber of Commerce to have and ad featuring the club in their annual directory.  The cost of the ad is $455.00. A motion was made to not take out the ad this year.  The motion passed easily.

Lisa still needs volunteers to help with the concession stand at the car show. Those willing to help can reach her at 501-840-3706
