Car Show Chairman TJ Thibeau invited members to volunteer at Tinseltown in Benton on Saturday, July 13th at 12:30 as the Autism Alliance of Saline County will be hosting a free sensory friendly viewing of Despicable Me 4 for families with a loved one on the Autism Spectrum. Even though this event is not a car club sponsored event as it has been in the past, several members had shown interest in being there to help these families.
Vice President Bob Perlinger and Car Show Chairman TJ Thibeau discussed the upcoming car show. There will be some changes made to this year’s car show. There will be designated handicap parking, space added for vendors, a new route to maneuver show vehicles safely into their parking areas, and a new waiver will be added to registration preventing the car club from being responsible for any damage that may occur to their vehicles during the show. Volunteer sign up forms were passed out for parking, judging, kitchen, and registration. The sign up list for kitchen donations was also passed around. There are still some items on our donation list for the kitchen that need to be signed up for. (If you did not attend the meeting and would like to volunteer for one of those positions, please feel free to send the club an email or Facebook message with your name and what position you would like to volunteer for.) Also, car show flyers were given out. Please hand them out when you can – car shows, auto parts stores, or anywhere that you can! It is time to be collecting silent auction items and door prizes. Anything can be given – gift cards, car wash kits/accessories, tool kits, pet items, ladies items, gardening items, etc.
Membership Committee Chairman Bill Gray presented a possible new membership card. The card was both approved by the Membership Committee and the Publications Committee. This card will be what is used to be shown for discounts at participating businesses as well to help keep track of current members. He would like to order 500 cards which would be enough to for the club for multiple years. Special Events Committee Chairman Thomas Gage made a motion to approve the new card and purchase of 500 cards. Member Wanda Price mad the 2nd motion. All were in favor and the motion passed.
A motion to adjourn was made by Bill Gray. A second motion was made by Tosha Thibeau. The meeting ended at 7:41. A club cruised proceeded after.
