The Dixie Car Club met on March the 1st at Western Sizzlin’ in Benton.
President Shane Shelton welcomed 1 guest.
The next meeting will be April 5th at western Sizzlin’ at 7:00.
Shane Shelton visited the manager of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts regarding the trophies for the car show. The store manager is suppose to contact his district manager for approval. If nothing happens by the next meeting Shane is going to look into other options.
Shane has also been in contact with the owners of the Market Street Station Food Truck Court. They may be willing to cooperate with the club with a cruise in located in the Thomas Real Estate office parking lot just behind the food court. Local food trucks would be available for eats and drinks. A May date could be possible. This would be a great way to get public exposure for the club. If this does materialize, we would need about 5 people to help with parking. The lot appears to be capable of handling about 30 to 40 cars. The lot is accessible on Cross Street. The other entrance is not very car friendly. Updates still coming in on this.
Due to Spring Break, Shane was not able to get reservations at any of the restaurants new to the area. As a good hold over, we will meet at Chicken Express on Military in Benton on March 24th at noon and head out to Riviera Maya in Otter Creek at 12:30 for a 1:00 arrival time. We will travel using the service road. It is a straight shot there.
Due to extra cold weather and the Flu bug there wasn’t an outing in February.
Cheryl Overton reported that Everette Buick GMC has agreed to be a show sponsor again this year.
Wanda Price reported that the cruises to Larry’s Pizza in Land Mark have started up again. They are held the first Saturday of each month starting at 6:00 running to 8:00. The location is Arch Street and Atwood in Land Mark
Cherly also provided an up to date membership list. They are available upon request.
Meeting adjourned about 7:30
