Meeting Highlights
The Dixie Car Club met at Wood Grill Buffet in Benton on Thursday, February 6.  There were 26 members and approx. 4 guests present.   We would like to welcome back one of our members, Gary Wright, who has been in Afghanistan.
Bill Newsam has replaced 2 magnetic signs.  He is working on getting more information for the car show banners.   Wayne Davis proposed that the club purchase 6 additional sets of magnetic signs at the cost of $65 per set.  These will be used on club outings and parades.  Porfirio Gutierrez suggested we may look into the possibility of using static cling type signs as an alternative.  Bill Newsam made a motion to purchase 2 additional sets of the magnetic signs at an approximate cost of $140.  The club vote was 10 in favor and none opposed.  Cheryl Overton recommended there be a keeper of the signs so that none would be misplaced.  Bill Newsam and Wayne Davis were volunteered to keep the signs.
There was an extensive discussion regarding the club website and social media.  At this time the website is not being updated due to Danny Chandler is no longer with the club.  Lisa Ramsey will be checking in with Danny to see if he will continue to update the website or possible alternatives.
The January outing was hosted by Bill Newsam to Whippet in Prattsville.  With beautiful weather,  it was a  great outing.  There were 46 in attendance including the Mid South Club with 15 antique cars driven.  The February outing will be hosted by the McKinney’s.  We will be traveling to the Asian Grill Buffet on Baseline on Saturday, February 22.  Meet at Chicken Express in Benton at 1:00 p.m. to caravan to the restaurant .
We have volunteers to fill in some of the remaining months for outings.  They are:   July – Overtons,  August –  Will Bate & Cookie Burks, and November  – Tanny Jones & Porfirio Gutierrez.   We still need a volunteer for a September outing.
Daryl Harding is acquiring information about club participation in the Little Rock St. Patrick’s Day Parade to be held on March 14.
