Meeting Highlights

In the absence of President, David Huett, V. President Cheryl Overton presided over the meeting.  Welcome new members Danny and Annette Chandler and their son David.  They own a 1966 Volvo.

Treasurer, Todd Overton, recorded out of 84 members, 51 have paid their dues.  Todd reiterated  that members need to renew their membership.   This will be the last newsletter for those who have not yet paid.

Lisa Ramsey reported that the fund raising event held at Chic-Filet on Tuesday, April 8 raised $32 which is 20% of sales that evening.  In addition to the $32, members and non-members donated an additional $42.  Due to the heavy rain that evening, the club voted to try this fund raising event again; possibly in May.  Lisa will report back at the May 5 meeting. 

The March outing to Riviera Maya, hosted by Shane and Elisabeth Shelton, was attended by 18 members with approx. 6 old cars driven.   The May outing will be hosted by Jim and Velta Shipps.   We will meet Saturday, April 16, at the Benton Health Department (Hwy 35 and Edison Ave.).  We will leave at 12:30 to caravan to the East End Café.

Ramsey Tire and Auto Center renewed their sponsorship for this years car show.  We still need more sponsors. 

John Bennett of the Arkansas Travelers Car Club invited Dixie members to join them for a cruise to Hot Springs Village onApril 30.  We will meet between 8-9 a.m. at Bryant Walmart.  We will leave promptly at 9 a.m.

Bill Newsam was contacted by the Malvern Avenue Country Club Village in Hot Springs (Retirement Homes) about having a Car Show at their location.  The show will also be on April 30 from 1 – 3 p.m.   For more information, contact Bill Newsam.

3rd Saturday of each month –  The Sheridan McDonald’s Cruise-in hosted by the Mid South Car Club.
