The Dixie Car Club met on Thursday, June 7 at Western Sizzlin’ in Benton.   Approximately 30 members and 1 guest were present.

Treasurer, Cheryl Overton, announced that Ashley’s Furniture is sponsoring the car show with a $1,000 donation.

Ron Wood reported that the May outing was well attended with approximately 30 people in attendance and at least 5 old cars driven.  This outing also served as a surprise Birthday party for Ron.

Earl Cloud reported on the Boys and Girls Club Car Show held in Hot Springs Village.  He reported that it was a nice show but they still need to iron out a few bugs.  However, a good time was had by all and along with good food.

Shane reported that the Main Street Station Cruise In was well attended.  We had approximately 50 cars participating.  Shane would also like to thank those club members who assisted with parking during this event.  There is a possibility for another cruise-in this Fall.

Update on our members dealing with health issues:  Robert Vest is improving but may need further treatment.  Lonnie Hunter is also improving.  He received a good report and was able to chunk the sling for the first time this year.   Bill McMahan is also recovering nicely.

The June outing will be hosted by the Birch’s.  It will be held Saturday, June 23.  The group will caravan from Chicken Express at 2 p.m. to travel to Freddy’s on I-30.  It is located in the new shopping center.  The later time is set up to allow members to participate in the Saline County Library Car Show sponsored by Becky Fischer.   That show begins at 10 a.m.

Ricky Fischer announced that the Mashburn Mustang Museum Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, August 11.  The event will begin at 2 p.m.  Food will be served from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.  The cost is $15 per person.  It will be catered by Riverside Grocery.
