DIXIE CAR CLUB NEWS LETTER MARCH – 2019
NEXT MEETING: THURSDAY, APRIL 4, 2019 PLACE: WHOLE HOG, BRYANT TIME: 6 P.M. DINNER / 7:00 P.M. MEETING
The meeting was held at Whole Hog Cafe, Bryant on Thursday, March 7. President Shane Shelton welcomed 24 members.
Shane reported on the February outing to Riviera Maya at Otter Creek. Due to rainy weather there were only 12 members in attendance and no old cars were driven.
The March outing will be hosted by the McKinney’s. We will be traveling to the Asian Grill Buffet on Baseline Rd., Little Rock. On March 23, we will meet at Chicken Express at 12:30 p.m. and leave from there at 1 p.m.
Cheryl Overton did a statistics follow up from our most recent show. The award presentation’s breakdown is as follows:

Based on this data, next year’s awards will be adjusted accordingly. Dale Mashburn provided some great insight, and much discussion was held on how to categorize cars. It was initially decided we would divide the cars as follows:
1994 and older – classic1995-2016 – newer cars2017-2019 – newest cars – judged by popular vote cast by registered participantsRat Rods
Each category will then be broken down further as determined by the judges based on the numbers in each category.
Bill Newsam proposed that the club purchase 45 trophies. This number would include 6 specialty trophies. Bill also proposed that the club purchase an appreciation plaque for O’Reilly’s for purchasing our trophies.
