March 2023 – Newsletter

Next Meeting April 6th at the Wood Grill in Benton.

6:00 to eat and meeting begins at 7:00.

President Shane Shelton welcomed 20 members and 5 guest even though the weather was really bad.

We had 5 guests in attendance Robert Hartwick, Jeff and Linda who have a 2002 Corvette and Troy and Marcia who have Volkswagens.  Sorry but I wasn’t able to get the last names of our guest.

Robert Hartwick came to inform us about a car show in Hurricane Lake Estates on March 25th.  This is their first and it is basically a test run to see how it works out. The show location is at the club house in Hurricane Lake Estates. This year there is one trophy given out and the entry fee is $10.00. Proceeds go to the upkeep of the boat ramp and park area.  The show starts at 9:00 and judging begins at 10:00. There will also be 2 food trucks in attendance.

On behalf Porfirio and Tanny the club presented the family of TJ Thibeau with a plaque of appreciation for securing the deposit for the fairgrounds last year and for making up auction baskets for the car show. Without their generosity, their may have not been a show.

Elisabeth Shelton has secured a reservation at The Benton Event Center for this year’s Christmas party.  More Information to come.

Rich Undiener who is shaving the antique tractor show in Sheridan wasn’t able to attend our meeting due to bad weather. He did want to remind the club about the show and wants as many club cars as possible to be in attendance.  The Mid-South Car Club of Sheridan is also planning on attending this year’s show.  Those who want to caravan can meet me at the Health Department at the corner of Edison Avenue and Highway 35 at 8:00 and arrive at the show at about 9:00. There are food trucks to be at the show .

I visited the O Reiley’s Auto Parts Store bout two weeks ago.  They agreed to sponsor the trophies again for this year’s car show.  I just need to get all the paper work to the manager ASAP.
