Shane opened the meeting welcoming 27 members and guests. At the July meeting Shane asked who would be interested in participating in upcoming local area parades. Some of the upcoming parades are:

  • Tuesday, September 3 – Saline County Fair Parade.  Line up at Maple Street by 5:30 p.m. The parade starts at 6 p.m.

  • Saturday, September 28 – Bryant Fall Fest. Shane was going to talk with Jon Martin, our club member, who is organizing the Bryant Fall Fest Car Show. Shane visited with Jon who sent information regarding the parade and the car show on September 28 at Bishop Park in Bryant. Shane is in the process of obtaining a registration form for the parade through the Bryant Chamber of Commerce. The car show will the follow after the parade. The Show runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. There is no registration fee. There will be cash prizes for each of the classes listed on the registration form. The modern vehicles will be judged separately from classic vehicles with a score adjustment being made for vehicles that are modern for best in show scoring. The July outing to Sumo’s Steak and Sushi was attended by 14 people and approx. 5 old cars. The August outing will be hosted by the Ramsey’s. We will be going to the Black Bear Diner in N. Little Rock on Saturday, August 17. Meet at Benton Goodwill (across from Sonic) at 9 AM.

Bill Newsam presented information about Mashburn Mustang Fundraiser. This will be held Saturday, August 10. We will be leaving from the old Ed & Kay’s in Benton (off exit 116) at 3 p.m. The cost is $15 donation per person. This includes all you can eat catfish and chicken from Riverside Grocery.

The Club has been invited to be a part of the downtown Benton Third Thursday events that take place each month during the Summer. The fun will begin at 6 p.m. Shane is awaiting more details regarding where they will park the cars. We will send out an E-mail as soon as we have that information.

Lisa Ramsey discussed the need for more help with food donations for the Concession for the Car Show. Unless we can obtain more donations, we will need to look at other options for vending for the Show. Please contact Lisa as soon as possible if you can help.

Other Upcoming Events:

Saturday, October 12 – Rock City Cruisers Car Show at the Little Rock Tomato, Inc. located on East Broadway, NLR. The show begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Entry Fee is $15.00

Food Bank:  $23.27.
