NEXT MEETING: THURSDAY, AUGUST 1, 2019 TIME: 6 P.M. DINNER / 7 P.M. MEETING PLACE: WOOD FIRE BUFFET
President Shane Shelton opened the meeting welcoming 24 members including guests.
The June outing was hosted by the Perlinger’s. We traveled to El Chico on Geyer Springs on Saturday, June 29. Approximately 18 were in attendance including 4 guests with approximately 6 antique cars driven.
The July outing hosted by The Bates’ will be Saturday, July 20. We will meet at the Health Dept. on Hwy 35 & Edison Ave. at 11:45 a.m. From there we will caravan to the Sumo Sushi & Steak Grill at 5311 Hwy 5 North. We plan to eat at 12:30.
Wayne Davis presented Shane with a list of several parades that take place this year. Many of these parades are only a short drive from Benton. Participation in these parades could be an excellent way to get advertisement of the Dixie Car Club. Some of the parades near by are:
- Bryant Fall Fest Parade – September 28
- East End Parade – November 2
- North Little Rock Christmas Parade – December 1
- Saline County Fair Parade in Benton – September
- Benton Christmas Parade – December 2
- Bryant Christmas Parade – December 3
- Shannon Hills Christmas Parade – TBA
Shane took a quick survey to see who would be interested in participating and had a fairly positive response. Shane has volunteered to check into the above parades to see what is required to register the club in these parades.
Lisa Ramsey has a sign up sheet for items needed for the Concession for the October car show. She needs volunteers to bring food items and to help the day of the show. Contact Lisa if you are able to assist. We also need door prizes and Sponsors for the show.
